Motorcycle Show Long Beach 2011

IMS Motorcycle Show Long Beach December 2011.  Saturday morning 12/10, 9:06 AM rode into the Best Buy Parking lot in Orange to meet John Ruhland for a ride over to the show.  As I approached the lot realized I was quite a bit early as we scheduled to meet at 9:30, but on entering the parking lot here comes John from the other entrance at exactly the same time…Great minds think alike.  Realizing we were both ready to go and had no one to wait for, off we went.

Traffic was light so we rode right in, found a parking spot, met some other STAR friends and off to the show we go.  Free passes, courtesy the Scooter Shop, checked coat and helmet and we are in.  Naturally we head for the Yamaha/STAR exhibit where we run into more STAR friends.

We walked the entire show, sat on a couple motorcycles, bought a can of spray cleaner for $5 and after trying to talk Will and Daveta into buying a Stratoliner, we left around 12:30 for Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles on Broadway in Downtown Long Beach.  John bought a web bungee thing for $5 also.   We both had a good time passing by all the vendors.
My entire expenditure for everything including entry, purchases and lunch was $9, now that is getting off easy at a motorcycle show.  This Indian Motorcyle could set me back abut $36,000!

Brittany  Morrow became famous on the internet for surviving a spill off a motorcycle while wearing no protective gear except for a helmet.  Photos of road rash along her sides, back, arms and legs were posted on many websites and became a topic of discussion on motorcycle forums as well.  She turned this personal tragedy into quite a story of  recovery and positive reaction to a nasty negative in her life.  She is now an instructor and give talks on what types of protective gear you can and should wear while riding plus does reviews of gear as well.  I was very impressed listening to her story.  I am one or her 5,000 and growing, Facebook Friends!

Some random people that threatened me if I did not include them on the blog.
This is John, we did get one photo anyway.
